Schizachyrium scoparium (little bluestem)

Both ornamental and ecologically valuable, this is a wonderful plant for home landscaping. This gorgeous bunch grass turns coppery red in fall and remains upright in winter for year-round interest. Excellent for wildlife, including songbirds that eat the seeds. Drought-tolerant. Host plant for many skipper butterflies.
