This hardy shrub is a bee magnet! It’s also a host plant for the gray hairstreak butterfly and wavy-lined emerald moth. Listed as a species of special concern in Wisconsin.

Prune every other year while dormant for flowering along the entire branch. Cut back by half and thin 1/3 of the oldest stems.
