Large daisy-like flowers provide color late into the fall and nectar for bees and butterflies. Host plant for the dainty sulfur butterfly and rigid sunflower borer moth.

Fun fact: Contrary to the name, the pollen doesn’t cause sneezing. In the past, it was dried and used to make a snuff that caused sneezing.
