Echinocystis lobata (wild cucumber)

Fragrant white flowers produce large spiny pods that persist through fall. This fast-growing annual vine could cover a new trellis while slower-growing perennial vines get established. Without a trellis, the tendrils naturally grow up and drape over other vegetation. The vines and pods are used in dried floral arrangements. They also make great Halloween decorations! 

Note: Despite the name, this plant is NOT edible.
