Not to be confused with Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower), this coneflower is listed as threatened in Wisconsin. An excellent pollinator plant, the seedheads also attract goldfinches. Host plant for the silvery checkerspot butterfly and more. Drought-tolerant.
