When the spring ephemerals are finished, honewort starts blooming. The tiny white flowers support a wide variety of native bees. A member of the carrot family, it is also a host plant for the black swallowtail butterfly. Spreads quickly and may out-complete invasive garlic mustard. Several parts of the plant are edible, so forage away! The young leaves taste like parsley and the roots and seeds are edible too.
