Naturally found in wet prairies, streambanks, and swamps, the unique white puffball flowers and attractive foliage make this a popular ornamental shrub. Tolerates occasional flooding but does not like to dry out. A good choice for a large rain garden or moist spot in the yard.
Optionally prune in early spring if shaping is desired. May be cut back almost to the ground.
