This clump-forming wetland sedge adapts well to the garden setting. Yellow spikes of flowers emerge in spring and the foliage remains green through summer. Dense stands provide excellent cover for birds and wildlife. Makes a good choice for a rain garden. This species was rated a top performer in the Mt Cuba Center sedge trial. Also called upright sedge.
Tip: Prefers full sun but tolerates some shade.
