Looking for a shade-tolerant milkweed? This is the plant for you. This tall woodland plant has a lovely fragrance when in bloom. Host plant for monarch butterflies and two types of moth. Despite the similar name, this is unrelated to pokeweed (Phytolacca americana).

Growing tips: Protect from strong wind. New plants may go dormant early after transplant, but can bounce back in year 2.
