Despite its delicate appearance, this plant is very hardy and easy to grow. Flowers range from white to pink and face downward, as if nodding. Like other alliums, it is edible in small quantities and can be used as a garnish or prepared like other onions. Spreads steadily by seed and bulb offshoots.
