Asclepias syriaca (common milkweed)
Easy to grow, easy to collect your own seeds. As the name implies, this is the most common milkweed in southern Wisconsin. Like all milkweeds, it is a host plant for monarch butterflies. It spreads quickly by rhizome, so might need some “editing” if used in a small garden.
Type: Perennial
Bloom time: June, July, August
Light: Full Sun, Partial
Water: Dry, Medium
Height: 2 to 4 feet
Sold as: Deep pot (3.5" x 5")
