Artemisia ludoviciana (prairie sage)

Also known as white sagebrush, the fragrant silvery foliage of this plant has many medicinal, ceremonial, and decorative uses. Ecologically, it is a host plant for the American lady and painted lady butterflies and provides nesting material for native bees. Spreads quickly by rhizome and may overwhelm small gardens.
